Congratulations to Lingfield Sports Scholar Charlie in Year 10, who has been selected for the 2024 U15 Surrey County cricket team. A fantastic achievement to make the team out of 76 boys and a testament to all his hard work over the summer.

Charlie scored some impressive stats in 2023 when he made his full Surrey debut against Essex, taking 2 wickets/catches and scoring 15 runs.  He was the lead wicket-taker in the U14s internal Surrey games with 9 wickets and a best figure of 24 for 3 off 7 overs.

He also had a competitive 2023 at Three Bridges Cricket Club, scoring 104 in the U16 semi-final before progressing to win the Cup final. He played in all 2nd team fixtures, bowling and batting at number 3.  2024 looks like it will be an equally exciting season captaining the U15s.

Before playing at Surrey, Charlie made his 1st team debut this year aged just 14 in the Sussex premier division, an achievement he is very proud of.  Whilst at Sussex, he also played in a 1st team senior men's T20 cup game at Preston Nomads, hitting the opening overseas bowler for 4 off his 3rd ball.

Charlie is a great ambassador for Lingfield Sport, representing the school in football, hockey and cricket, and we look forward to watching his progression in the future.
