Shell Oil Careers 

David from Shell provided an engaging talk about careers in the energy sector, sharing his journey from university to working in crude oil trading. Students learned about the global impact of energy, the importance of teamwork, and the dynamic challenges of the industry, including geopolitics and sustainability efforts.

J.P. Morgan

Cydney Fenwick delivered an engaging discussion on the benefits of applying for degree apprenticeships. Cydney provided a firsthand account of the importance of apprenticeships as an alternative pathway into the finance sector, alongside university. She emphasised the value of thorough interview practice and the overall benefits of interview experience.

Advertising 

A fascinating and engaging insight into the world of advertising. An incredibly popular talk that focused on retail marketing and Entrepreneurism. Sanchia really inspired our students with her career journey and will be providing work experience placements to some lucky year 10s next term.

Digital Design Executive

Lauren Pilkington shared her academic and career journey since leaving Lingfield. As a design executive, she highlighted the intricacies and demands of her work, including the pressure of strict deadlines and the fast-paced environments she has had to adapt to.

Forensic Psychology 

Students were introduced to the fascinating field of forensic psychology, including how psychological theory is applied to criminal investigations, offender rehabilitation, and the justice system. Our speaker also outlined the academic path required to enter this profession, offering valuable advice to those interested in psychology and criminal justice.

Royal Air Force Careers 

Squadron Leader Darren Tremble gave an inspiring presentation on the diverse career paths available in the RAF, from aircrew and engineering to intelligence and logistics. Students learned about the personal qualities the RAF looks for, the benefits of a career in the armed forces, and the importance of preparation when applying.

Entrepreneurship and Private Equity 

Iain Maclean shared his career journey, from studying geography at university, to his first job as an account manager, and how this led to him developing a small company into a multi-million pound business. This certainly sparked intrigue from students and Iain stressed the imporance of being passionate about what you do, and having a "winner mentality". 

Deutsche Bank 

Rosa Alvado gave a fascinating insight into her own career journey in Banking and Finance. Students asked searching questions and were encouraged to consider the wide range of entry routes available, as well as the numerous possible career paths available.

Aviation and Becoming a Pilot 

Liam Barnes shared his journey into aviation, from gaining a Private Pilot’s Licence at 16 to training with TUI to become a commercial airline pilot. The talk covered different training routes, the realities of pilot life, and the skills needed to succeed in the aviation industry. Liam was given a warm welcome by staff who used to teach him and was incredibly inspirational. 

Pyschology 

Dr. Carolyne Keenan delivered an exceptional presentation on the multiple pathways into the field of psychology. She provided a clear roadmap for students, detailing each milestone - from obtaining a degree to gaining practical experience and further specialisation.
