On Saturday, we hosted our annual Afternoon Tea & Tour, welcoming back over 50 alumni whose leaving years spanned from 1952 to 2023.
We had the pleasure of welcoming Elizabeth Moore and Margaret Richards, sisters who attended Notre Dame in the 1950s and 1960s. Elizabeth was Head Girl in her final year and last returned to Lingfield College about 50 years ago, and Margaret last visited 70 years ago!
Simon Morris was also a very special addition to this year’s celebrations. As our longest-serving member of staff, having joined in 1981, he remains a much-loved music teacher.
Our fabulous catering staff served an exceptional selection of cakes and sandwiches.
Here are some reflections from alumni:
Assemblies used to take place in the Senior School Corridor where the toilets are, and students had to stand up straight with their hymn books and were not allowed to lean against the walls.
Domestic Science
The now Food and Nutrition room, which is now a neutral colour, used to have a different colour for each station so the pink station would have all pink accessories down to the spoons!
Beef and cheese crumble was a favourite and the mayonnaise was not!
A Ballroom
The library was originally used as a ballroom and the board room was used for elocution lessons.
The Astro
There used to be a lake near where the Astro is.
We can’t wait to welcome you back next year, so be sure to save the date: 12th June 2027 - Alumni Afternoon Tea & Tour
