| The Lingfield Foundation |
Whilst working at Lingfield College, a fantastic Independent School in Surrey, I have been actively involved in setting up the partnership activities with local state schools. Lingfield College offered means tested financial assistance to parents who couldn’t quite meet the fees but I wanted to do something different that would reach out to a different group of students and do something that could be truly transformational.
I came from humble beginnings, I was lucky to be brought up in a safe and happy home with lots of encouragement to do my best, whatever that may be. I didn’t get the chance to go University but on my life path, I had people who gave me opportunities, who showed me that I could achieve more than I believed I could, and allowed me to push myself with the comfort of knowing that if it didn’t work out that was okay! I did get my Post Grad Dip in HR management and have loved every part of my career that has followed. Everyone regardless of circumstances should be able to have opportunities to be the best version of themselves and I believe that the Lingfield Foundation will do that!
About The Lingfield Foundation:
The Foundation is twofold; on one hand it is to give a child in the community with a strong academic flair the opportunity to have a 100% – 110% bursary.
Secondly, we will run a Saturday provision, Lingfield Ignite, where we have a class full of children once a month to have an educational and fun morning doing extra curricular activities, some core learning, helping build a community project and also have life skills training. I am delighted to be working with local schools and businesses to enable the Lingfield Ignite programme to be a great success.
